Humantech

Human-centered software

Technology that fits the people who use it.

Here I design and build applications around the people who use them: calm, private and minimal tools that respect your attention and your data, and help with what you care about.

How I build

1

Start from one person

I build from one real person's pain. Tech for everyone ends up shallow or bloated; mine serves whoever deeply shares that pain, and so it isn't for everyone.

2

Calm by design

No due dates, no notifications, minimal features. I like software that follows your life instead of leading it.

3

Yours to keep

Your data is private. Where it makes sense, you can run my apps on your own server for free.

Behind Humantech

Engineering for people.

Humantech is my studio. I'm Massimo Brivio, an engineer from ETH Zürich, and humility, empathy, and curiosity are my core values. Here I experiment with technology on my own terms, building what I believe matters: tools that solve my own problems or those of people I can empathize with. Empathy is the best UX tool and the fundamental building block of human-centered software.

My apps

Flow

Notice what pulls you. Commit to what matters.

Opportunities pop up all the time, and many slip by. Flow helps you be aware and intentional about them. My assumption is that humans act when something excites them and fits their values, not because of plans or reminders. Flow helps you decide what is worth pursuing and how.

  • Set your goals, notice opportunities, and let them guide you: purpose and feelings are key
  • No deadlines: I don't like them very much
  • Hosted for you, or free to run on your own server

Flow for iPhone is coming soon to the App Store.

Suit

Match people by what matters. Everyone at once.

Employees and tasks, mentees and mentors, guests and tables: pairing people by hand takes hours and leaves someone out. With Suit you say what counts and how much, and it finds the best match for everyone together, showing why each pair belongs together.

  • Criteria compared their own way: by overlap, level, distance or the meaning of a text
  • People answer a simple form themselves, or come from a spreadsheet
  • Hosted for you, or free to run on your own server
